THE CONCEPT – WHO AM I
We are the observer and the observer creates the reality in each moment.
Bio-communication within humans and natural organisms belongs to sign-mediated interactions and codes allusively likened to a nowadays-massive possibility of communication exchanges. Organisms feel human expressions by deforming through natural alterations. Body modification is seen as a bio-surface mutation derived from the internal perceptual discrepancy between the people “natural self” and the “ideal self” imposed by the society’s manipulation. We build a bridge between body and mind, humans and nature, technologies and communication, according to bio-semiotic and plants perception.

This concept is based mostly on bio-semiotic and bio-communication.
Semiotic is the field that studies interaction through signs.
Bio-semiotic is the discipline that studies the exchange of signs between organisms.
Bio-communication is the transmission of signs between plants and human beings.
In this project, Obsessive Compulsive seeks to rebuild a bridge between humans and plants by transmitting basic signs and representing plants perception and reactions. This need of “natural” communication is due to a badly utilization of technologies (what sociologists define bio-hypermedia exploitation) and its correlated social matters.
Bio-hypermedia is the paradigm that deeply link our lives through “always connected” and “always geolocalised” devices (smartphones, tablets and others) that we carry on us and interact with us everyday, all daylong. Social networks’ commercialization and viral marketing converted traditional capitalism, into cognitive capitalism, or the exploiting of bio-hypermedia in order to manipulate people perception and population choices.
Obsessive Compulsive seeks to reverse the system by exploiting new media technologies to freely be able to interact with others. Obsessive Compulsive’s intent is to gain back a connection with real life, feelings and people perception.
